At 17, Rebecca Louisa Guno had a son, who was raised by a relative. She subsequently had another child, who was adopted, but later died. In June 1983, Guno, 23, vanished from Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside, where she used drugs and worked in the sex trade. The young woman was from Nisga’a First Nation, located in British Columbia.
